Fetal Alcohol Screening gathers pace across rural and remote NSW


Our dedicated team of Fetal Alcohol Spetrum Disorder (FASD) staff have been on the road again across rural and remote NSW to provide parents and carers with access to the screening services for FASD.


One of the challenges in diagnosing FASD is that women sometimes do not know they were pregnant when they consumed alcohol.


Picking up FASD as early as possible however ensures kids can get the treatment they need that will help them to grow up as healthily as possible.


This is a remarkable services delivered by the Healthy Communities Foundation Australia in collaboration with the University of Sydney, Sydney Children's Hospital Network, NOFASD and the CICADA Centre.


Aboriginal Health Worker Carl Mason screens children for FASD as part of a mobile screening service that is travelling across rural and remote NSW.
