Community Plan

The Collarenebri Community Plan was developed by the Galariinbaraay Reconciliation and Renewal Corporation Ltd, with the support of the Healthy Communities Foundation Australia Ltd, to allow members of the community the opportunity to identify the key issues and priorities for their town, and to reflect on and develop proposals for solutions that the community supports.

The establishment of the Galariinbaraay Community Hub, Dhirri-li Education for Work Centre and other initiatives outlined on this web site are all a direct response to the priorities and solutions identified by the local community.

The decision to create a community-led plan was deliberate.  For too long communities have waited for governments and their agencies to develop solutions to the challenges experiences by rural, remote and Aboriginal people.

​

The intention of this process was to build our own plan, using our own local knowledge and experience.  Rather than waiting for government to us with solutions that we know will not work, we decided to go to government with community-informed solutions that we know will work.

 

The Plan is intended to be a living document, and all members of the community are able to have a say and get involved.
